A Neuroscientist
Rintaro's first encounter with neuroscience was through Keio Global Science Program (GSC) organized by the Keio University School of Medicine, Department of Chemistry, and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). During GSC, he engaged in hands-on research at the Keio University School of Medicine, Institute for Advanced Medical Research, Divison of Brain Sciences (DBS). It was the research experience at DBS that altered the course of his life. In 2022, he moved on to his undergraduate study at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Department of Molecular Cell Physiology. He is currently working on elucidating the mechanism of taste perception.
A Developer
During his stay at DBS, Rintaro found out that not all research tools are found on the market, and that he needed to develop them himself. So he started learning programming languages including but not limited to: Python, Swift, HTML, and CSS. Using the programming skills he obtained, he started developing research tools that support researchers from ingenious perspectives. What started as an individual project ended up being an organization called 'Dopamine'. With all the outstanding members at Dopamine, Rintaro will continue developing research tools and contribute to the advancement of science.
